Pre-Registration

Pre-registration for new and transfer students: Wednesday, March 8 at 5:30 in the new library

 

New student: any student who lives in the Sandia High School district, but who does not currently attend Sandia or one of its feeder middle schools.

 

Transfer student: any student who does not live in Sandia’s district, AND who has received a permission to transfer to Sandia by APS’ district office.

 

Please bring proof of your transfer approval.

Attention Seniors  The Manuel Lujan Excellence in Education Scholarship is now available in the counseling office. One recipient is chosen by the school to receive a $500 scholarship that is renewable for 4years. Students must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and be attending one of NM’s sates schools. See Mr. Vopalka for more details.

 

Attention seniors the Swift Scholarship 6 is open & six seniors will win $1000. See our website at sandia.aps.edu and click under Scholarship: Swift 6 link for an application or see Mr. Vopalka for more details. The scholarship is due on or before Friday, March 17th at 2:25pm.

 

Attention seniors who are planning on attending CNM in the fall 2017 for college. New Student Orientation is now open. You must go on line to register: www.cnm.edu/nso or See Mr. Vopalka for details.

 

Meet UNM! It is a special event just for high school students. Explore academic programs, Learn about their student services, Tour the campus & residence halls. 8:00am-12:00pm this Saturday, March 4th.  You must RSVP See Mr. Vopalka for more details

 

Tuesday, 3/7 there will be a representative from Eastern New Mexico University. ENMU is a state university in Portales. They will be here 9:45-10:45am outside of counseling. See Mr. Vopalka for a pass.

 

Attention All Juniors. The SBA Science Exam will be given on Monday morning of Next Week. This is a mandatory exam for all 11th graders or those planning to graduate next year.  The exam will begin at 7:30am on Monday morning. Testing Room assignments will be posted later this week in Yucca, the Math Science Building & outside the Old Library.  If there are any questions, please contact your counselor or the Testing Coordinator in room E8.

 

SBA Science exam for All Juniors will be held Monday March 6th.

 

 

Girls Track is having a Chick-Fil-A dinner night from 5p.m. to 8 p.m. TONIGHT… Tuesday February 28th at the Chik-Fil-A on Wyoming. If anyone comes in saying that they are supporting SHS Girls Track 15% of their ticket sale will come back to the team.

 

This Friday at 7 pm in the main gym, the girls basketball team will be hosting an opening round state tournament game vs Cibola. Come out and support your Matadors!

 

Students, please be aware that you may have class fines.  If you are unsure of what fines you have or if you would like to pay them, you may see Ms. Lein in the book room and she will be happy to help you.

If so, please pick up an application from the Activities Office beginning Thursday, March 2.  Senate Applications are due  April 7, 2017.

 

Are you interested in leading your school?  Please consider running for an office…  A Class Office (president, Vice President and Secretary) or an ASB Office!

If you think you have what it takes to lead Sandia, pick up an Officer Application in the Activities beginning this Thursday, March 2.

Officer Applications are due March 17!
