GENERAL INFORMATION

 

Parking Passes are issued only at LUNCH in the Activities Office.  Make sure to bring a printed copy of your receipt.  This was stated on your application.

 

 

Seniors:  Remember, your parking pass matches the number painted in the Senior Lot.  Please only park in your space.  Do not park in a different numbered spot.  Security is working on supervising this lot and all other vehicles will be stickered and eventually booted and/or towed.

 

 

 

 

 

ACTIVITIES

 

Hey Matadors…Winter Ball is February 7th… get ready for a night of line dancing and disco balls because our theme is “Boots and Bling”! Tickets are on sale for $15 dollars at lunch outside of the Activities office.   Get them before they sell out!

Make sure you have your student I.D. or student view.

The dance will be held this Saturday in the Sandia Aux. gym from 7-9:30pm!

Guest forms are no longer being accepted.

 

 

Winter Ball Snow Court:  Sign-ups in the Activities Office!  There will be 6 court representatives from each grade level.  Guys and girls will be named our 2026 Snow Court.  Voting will take place at the dance.  Let’s see which class can have the most court signups! Last day to sign up is TODAY!

 

 

Good luck to our Sandia Bowling Team as they compete in the state tournament this Saturday at Silva Lanes. Stop by and support them if you can. Go Matadors! 

 

 

Attention Seniors:   The FINAL time to order your cap and gown has arrived. If you missed the opportunity last semester, you have another chance. Mark February 14th on your calendar as the crucial deadline.  Meeting this deadline is essential to ensure a proper fit for your cap and gown. Our next Career Seminar will be for those students who might be interested in restauranteering or owning a food truck.   If the world of culinary is in your future, Julian Griego, from the Street Food Institute, will be here on February 11th to share his experiences in owning his own food business.  If you would like to come to this seminar, please go to the counseling page of the Sandia website in order to sign up.  

 

Attention seniors. If you have four credits of a language with a C or higher in every course and are NOT in a language class this year, you may qualify for the bilingual seal.  Please see Ms. Crawford in Yucca 105 ASAP to register for the qualifying proficiency exam.

Over the weekend, the Sandia Speech and Debate team competed in the Cottonwood Classic. Eight students entered into a range of events from informative to Lincoln-Douglas debate. All students worked hard and represented Sandia well. Brighton Soliz-Spence made it to the semifinals on their topic of aeroplanes and Alexander Hibbs got second place for their speech on neurodiversity. Great job!

 

 

 

Gamers! We need you! Do you want to earn a letter by the end of this semester? Seniors need that last competitive edge to put on your resume? Want to play games but also have fun and meet new friends? We need to fill 3 smash Player spots, a rocket league spot, Splatoon 3 and one Solo Hearthstone spot! Come by today after school in the upstairs library! We have fun, go on field trips and you can earn a letter at the end of the semester and for seniors going to a NM college a possible scholarship as well. We have won state titles and district championships!

10th grade students: We are excited to announce that the IB Diploma Program pre-registration is now open. Our graduates continue to confirm our belief that the IB Program provides them with outstanding preparation for entrance into the university of their choice while focusing on critical thinking and a global focus. For more information, or if you need help filling out registration cards, we will have lunchtime meetings all this week in two separate locations: Mr. Maestas’ classroom (M/S 102) and Mrs. Reeves’ classroom (E-2). Light refreshments will be provided.

Anyone who is going to be a sophomore, junior, or senior and is interested in taking drama next year, please stop by the Drama room at lunch so we can find the perfect home for you, regardless of experience.  We have a stellar program and am looking for potential students who would like to be a part of a wonderful family. Bring friends with you who are interested, too, as you may end up in a class with your BFF!  

The room will be open this Friday, and next Monday Feb. 2nd, and Tuesday Feb. 3rd.

Hey Seniors, NEXT Wednesday the 28th during Advisory we will be meeting in the Theater for the Senior Celebration! Do you need to fill out the FAFSA?  Do you need more money for trade school or college?  Want to do some quick scholarship applications?  Have you been putting off applying for financial aid?  Need help ordering a cap and gown? We'll be doing all of that and MORE during the Senior Celebration on Wednesday. This is a mandatory event for Seniors. If you want help with financial aid, bring your Chromebook and social security number. Remember, financial aid also pays for trades like welding, cosmetology, barbering, and more! See you this Wednesday in the theater for the Senior Celebration! There will be Dion’s Pizza as the event ends too!
