Crossroads
What Is Crossroads?
Crossroads is a substance use prevention/intervention program for high school students. Crossroads is available to all Sandia students for individual, confidential support. Any student may seek support for themselves (or refer another student that is using substances) if they feel worried or concerned. Additionally, students may receive support if their friend or family member is using alcohol and/or other substances. This is a program available during the school year.
The Parent Involvement Program (PIP)
PIP is an alternative to long term student suspensions for drug and alcohol incidents. Parents attend the program with their student, and information about substance use is provided for all attendees. Parents may also request to attend with their student on a voluntary basis if they have a concern about substance use. Students and their parents attend a series of evening sessions addressing:
- Communication
- Adolescent brain development
- Problem-Solving skills
- Parent/Teen issues
- Teen alcohol & drug use
